Turmeric oil is gently extracted from the root using steam distillation which is gentle enough to preserve its properties. This method of extraction tones down the yellow pigmentation to prevent staining. In this form, the oil is highly concentrated in anti-inflammatory compounds that clarify the complexion, improve the elasticity of the skin, improve moisture content in the skin, and help regulate sebum production that causes oily skin. These compounds can also improve uneven skin tone.
Turmeric has been highly valued by herbal practitioners, not only within Ayurvedic and Unani traditions, but in many African herbal traditions as well.
